happy feet

I haven't had my nails done in well over a month (the last time was right before I flew out to the Six Apart offices), so today it was finally time to get them taken care of (oh my, were they ever in bad shape; plus, they were too long to type effectively, which is not funny when you spend all day at a keyboard and end up backspacing constantly to correct typos).
Of course, the ladies in the nail salon always ask if you want other services, and usually, I just say "no, thanks". Apparently, they make it a habit to look down at your feet in preparation for the sales pitch, and since I was wearing sandals, Kim quickly spotted my pitiful toes (which were almost as sad as my finger nails) and asked: "You need pedicure?"
"Oh no, I don't think I have the time for that today."
"Ahhh! We do same time!"
"Really? Hmmm. Oh. Okay then."
Mind you - I have never had a pedicure before. I guess I just find the idea of strangers touching my feet a little freakish. (Not to mention that I haven't shaved in a couple of days, so embarrassingly, there was a tiny forest sprouting beneath my jeans!)
But: Oh! The joy! The sheer ecstasy! The near-orgasmic delight!
Feet soaked in hot water with jets pulsating. Scrubbed vigorously (surprisingly pleasurable!). Plastered with a gooey green mask and wrapped in steamy yellow towels. Massaged all the way up to the calves, with self-warming oil that cooled deliciously on my skin. More lotion and massaging - more, more, oh yes, more please! Then, the toes carefully adorned with polish.
At one point, I thought I would fall asleep right there in the chair because it felt that divine. Fortunately, Kim's work on my nails kept me alert, and when I left the salon, it was with the wicked smile of self-indulgence.
So, as I sit here, feet all soft and scented and pampered, toes tidy and their tips a royal plum shade, I realize I have deprived myself of this pleasure unnecessarily and for far too long; and I hereby declare that regular pedicures will now be included in Girlie's Ultimate Maintenance Program™.
And for anyone who forgot a mother two days ago: I have a great idea for a belated gift. ;-)

It's the best isn't it? Unfortunately I can't do hands and feet at the same time you did but my place has this big chair, it's just amazing.
I think next time I'll get them done separately, so I can enjoy the pedicure even more fully. I really wanted to just lay back and close my eyes. Sigh.
Hehe, once I found a love interest who loves lovely feet in lovely shoes (oh, how I love my lovely shoes), I soon got hip to the pedicure thing. But before that, I swear the thought of a stranger's hands on my feet just made me cringe! Now, bliss!
Oops, my comment had questionable content! That's never happened to me before! :o Hehe, I've switched my word of choice for lovely. Though my shoes are little more racy than lovely. ;-)
congrats on the pedicure! they are wonderful, and worthy of your time every 2 weeks. :)
Wow girlie, I can't believe I'm finally posting on your blog!
I read about you on other blogs, and I've been here before a few times way before you changed it's looks, and the last thing I remember was a dinner date you went on, and that you had a nice picture of yourself displayed!
I can't post any pictures on my blog or give any personal info because my mom says there's alot of stalkers out there that could hurt us, and that is not good! The only pictures I have on my blog is of two friends I drew not long ago, and tonight I'm gona post another one that I just started which freaks me out a little because he looks nuts, but he's a nice guy
My mom use to go get her feet done, but since the person who done it died, nobody else wants to touch her feet, but I don't know why, they don't stink, just a little ugly, and big.
Anyways, I'm gona try to come here and say hi everytime I have a chance, but I'm gona be busy trying to steal my bike back this week from my dads friend who took it from me, wish me luck!
Hi, Rockchild. I'm glad you finally had a chance to say hello to me!
Yes, I took my picture down - your mom is right about stalkers, it's really not a good idea to give out too much information about yourself online. I decided it was better to not have my picture up, because I was getting some pretty creepy email from people when it was here before. :)
Maybe you should offer to give your mom a foot rub - I bet she'd really love that, and it would be a way to show her how much you appreciate her, even if her feet are big and a little ugly.
Good luck in getting that bike back, and I hope you were able to finish The Never-Ending Story. :)
