The new Macros plugin by Brad Choate lets you create your own (duh!) macros, handy for such things as always replacing certain text with an image, or creating custom tags.

And in this support forum thread, Brad explains how to write your own plugins using Macros and the PerlScript plugin he also developed.

Girlie,

I noticed you use some sort of linktracking device, AXS or something, on your site?

With the help of Brad I implemented a macro which auto-MACRO-cally prepends this to all outside links. It also makes the style of your links different for offsite and local.

For anyone who would like to see the final working macro I made a partly english post about it on my Blog: here
