tips and tricks for movable type
bloglet
September 22, 2002
I've been thinking of adding Bloglet to my site to replace the MT notification feature (it just seems silly to inundate my notification list with every little entry I post when I tend to enter a string of them all at once).
My only concern is that Bloglet wants my username and password - so I wondered if I could set up a separate UN and PW just for Bloglet. Would I have to give full permissions to that UN in order for it to work? Does anyone else use Bloglet who can give me advice?
It's not that I think the makers of Bloglet are going to do something dangerous with my username, I'm just paranoid by nature.
Feedback, anyone?

It seems like there was a post on the MT boards a while back about this - the blog's username and password weren't gonna be necessary any more? If I can find it, I'll come back and post it for you :)
Well, fee-fi, I found this thread, but it seems I have to be able to ping to do this - and of course, I cannot!!
Dammit, I need some free time so I can move to Blogomania!!
Yep, that's the thread I was thinking of! But of course, I didn't thnk of the fact that it probably had pinging involved. Poor busy girlie! :(
Hey there! I'm currently using Bloglet on my site -- but I have it updating off my RSS feed. If you do it that way, you don't need to give them your server username or password. :) It's a Good Thing.
