tips and tricks for movable type

subscribe to comments
October 03, 2002

My first significant use of PHP here on the site: the Scriptygoddess Subscribe to Comments script.

It was almost too easy, so I hope it works!! They mentioned some potential conflicts with the MT "Remember me" Javascript, so I'm wondering if that will crop up as a problem. Guess I'll wait and see if anyone reports bad things to me.

Comments

That's just wonderful! But I was think: Is there a way to allow comments only if the user has been subscribed?

If you're speaking of registration for commenting, not yet - but I'm hoping MT Pro will include that feature.

One little thing about this script though. I get sent my own comments as well. Is there anyway to work around that?

But I'm gonna try and install it anyway. Wish me luck.

I'm a little new to php implementation and I can't seem to figure out how to get this working on my site... I'd like to do what you've got here near the comment box where you have comment subscription options... I couldn't find the documentation for how to install it though on Script Godesses site, or readme.txt

Any help is appreciated... thanx
