For multiple author blogs, Kyle Slattery offered a forum tip on adding a login form to your page.

<form method="post" action="http://path/to/mt.cgi">
Username:<br><input name="username" size="20"><p>
Password:<br><input type="password" name="password" size="20"><p>
<input type="submit" value="LOG IN"></form>

Update http://path/to/mt.cgi to the URL for mt.cgi on your site.
