non-consecutive days with PHP

Quite a while back, I posted a link to Mena's tip on displaying non-consecutive days on your Main Index by using Daily archives.

Well, Brad Choate also posted a PHP solution in this support forum thread. It's untested, but if you'd rather not turn on Daily archives, and you can use PHP, it might be a better option for you.
